Jacket Potato question

Doodles

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I was thinking of taking in a cooked baked potato into work for lunch. If I cooked it in the morning (ie. out the oven at 8am), wrapped in foil and taken to work to be eaten at 12.30pm (without any refridgeration or reheating by microwave), would it still be ok to eat? Or would it be crawling with bacteria for being kept warm for so long?
Just trying to think of ways to eat cheaply at lunchtime! Grateful if anyone has done this to advise please.
Thanks!

When I oven cook jacket spuds, I find that the couple we don't use that night need to be taken out of the tinfoil as soon as possible, otherwise they go soggy, grey and unappetising.
Perhaps you could slice it up and take it to work in a wide-necked Thermos food container. It will be a bit hit or miss even then though. Wouldn't it be simpler to take sandwiches?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Suggestion
If you cook them as normal, halve them, scoop out the potato and mix with cheese (and whatever else you fancy) and then refill the skin, put back in the oven until browned.
I eat these cold and they are gorgeous with a bit of salad or just on their own - a bit more faffy I know but worth itI haven't got one!0 -
would making potato wedges be better, with a dip maybe, but i wouldnt wrap them in foil, a paper bag might be better then in a box without a lid0

You could do what you said and not make yourself ill, but as already said would look bit grim. But who cares easy and cheap lunch, wrapped in lots of foil it would keep fairly warm. But definatly wouldnt make you sick.0

As a kid eating a baked spud that had been roasted in the bonfire on Guy Fawkes night complete with burnt black bits certainly never hurt me at all I'm still here 60 years later
Usually ended up eatinga few strands of wool from my gloves as well:rotfl:0 -
