You'll need to edit the end date. It's January, not October.
  • Be careful that it submits......I saw someone's details as the last two boxes hadn't been ticked therefore the form was not submitted and the details were still there

Be careful again! This comp is run by Scottish & Newcastle UK Ltd who, despite saying in their T&C that they won't pass on your details (lie), will sell your details to other companies.

S&N sold my details on to a premium rate ring tone company resulting in me paying £1.50 for each text message they sent me.

I have previously reported S&N to the mobile regulator ICTIS.

Thanks for this piece of information, had i known before entering i might have been more wary. I've since used the text route(12p) to opt out of any further communication with this company.

Has anyone else had such issues with S&N selling their details.

Might i ask though, how you know it was S&N that sold your details.

I must admit, I wouldn't have entered had I known before hand. If anyone one else wants to do the same as kirkeastment:

Of course. I found out the £1.50 premium rate ringtone advertising texts originated from a company called winplc.com based in High Wycombe. I tracked them and a contact telephone number through the Phonepayplus website who list such companies.

I contacted winplc and they actually admitted to buying my number from a company who I'd entered a competition with. They refunded me the charges via postal order (arrived about 2 weeks ago) and removed my details from their records whilst I was on the phone to them. Within seconds I had two acknowledgement texts to confirm I had been removed - one of the texts, from 83400 (also a winplc number) stated:
'Your mobile number has been removed from all Scottish & Newcastle SMS mailing lists'.

Ah now you see, I don't give my mobile number on comp entries, ever. They have a landline number & email address, thats enough.

If mobile number is a required field, I don't enter, cos I know it'll be used to harass me in some way, probably at my expense.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

The trouble is with this comp it says: Winner will be contacted via mobile number provided.
