Please can you guys give me some hints and tips on how to win comps. I enter at least 30 per day and nothing!!

Maybe I am a wee bit impatient - I have been doing this since Dec 08??

Any tips would be gratefully received

Thanks

  • Well it took me 3 months entering 100+ comps a day to win anything.
I would say enter more comps.
    Good luck x
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

Hi Nicki if you have been doing them since December 2008 then it is very unlikely that you will win a prize so soon. But somepeople do although I would guess that the majority of winners didn't win their first prize for a good few months ( I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong) . There is not really any tips that can be given except for the usual eg when entering make sure your name and address are correct and also alway check your junk email- sometimes WEM can find their way into there. Enter competitions that you really want. I never enter competitions to do with things I am not interested in. So a baby website competition would be a no no for me. That way it gives those who wish to win those prizes more of a chance.
Don't forget also that you will probably be completing against fellow MSE members. It is good idea to have a look at how many MSE's thanked the original poster of the competition.
I've probably not helped you really but good luck and when your first win comes along no matter what it is, it is a great feeling.

I think you also have to remember that some comps we enter don't close for a few months too, so you may win from some of those you've already entered, they just haven't chosen the winners yet.

 Good luck, hope you get a win soon
  • There's really no trick to it, just enter as many as possible and wait for the postie lol. I enter around 1500 a month - January's wins amounted to just under £300 worth.

Some comps are more popular than others i.e. TVs, Laptops etc. therefore you have less chance of winning those. I think it's often the small wins that keep me going between bigger wins.

Good luck, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you start receiving prizes.

    Hi,

Comping questions should be posted in the competitions discussion thread here.

There is no magic answer, but i enter around 100 a day and do this as a hobby so any win is a bonus. Dont expect to win every month as sometimes you can go for months without a win. As you've only be comping since Dec you need to have patience. Try entering postal comps also.
