I have no knowledge of condenser dryers, but this seems a good deal from John Lewis at £189 with a 2 year warranty and free delivery.

Plus there is a £20 discount code here

Plus - you can get 6% cashback by going through Quidco.
Which i think works out aprox £159 for a condenser dryer delivered from John Lewis with a 2 year warranty.... can't be bad.0 -
Hi,
Just my tuppence, but I bought a Hotpoint WD860 about 14 months ago. I got it at a really good price, but it has been the most useless piece of junk I've ever owned.
Hotpoint have been out moreorless every 2 months since I got it to repair it. Various faults. They gave a 12 month guarantee, with 5 year warantee on parts.
That's all well and good but of course it's broken AGAIN.
We had no other option at this time of year but to pay for the extended warantee so they'd come and fix it. I'm seething, and can't wait to see the back of it.
I did have a look at the John Lewis ones and wondered whether they were any good. Next time I think my primary concern will be length of guarantee, although the last one I had was a cheapo Indesit (same manufacturers as hotpoint) but it was excellent. I guess there's no accounting.

Only just seen your post Kate I'm probably too late now anyway but after having a cheapo vented one for years with no problems I bought a condenser dryer but it takes forever to dry things and is noisy. They also take a helluva lot of energy. Try Which mag site for best buys. Cheap will usually mean more spent on fuel but the energy efficient A rated ones are much more expensive.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0
