5 a day help needed

How do I get my 21yo son to have his 5 fruit & veg a day given that he's happiest in a McDonalds?
He will eat carrots and swede.
If blended into lasagne he will eat tomatoes and onions. I've also managed to get courgettes into him via chicken korma.
He wont eat fruit pies or any identifiable green veg (or anything green for that matter!)
Apples maybe, trying oranges juiced.
Any ideas on subtle means to get him to eat more fruit & veg??

I make use of finely chopped (almost to mush in a food processor) veg in nearly every stew, soup, curry, bolognese type sauce I make.
I make up huge batches of this and freeze in double handful sized amounts. I take out a tub when needed, defrost for 2 mins in the microwave and fry as a base for my meal.
Use about 6-7 large onions, 6-7 cloves of garlic, 4-5 carrots, a couple of leeks, a head of celery, a couple of peeled courgettes, 2-3 red peppers.
not only do I get extra veg into the kids but my curries and stews have much more flavour. I have a turkey korma cooking now which has my veg mush as its base. I put a carton of passata in it too which counts as a veg;)0 -

If hes 2 stop taking him to mcds until he can quite happily savage a vegetarian lasagne, stir fry etc.
if hes 21, forget it, just wiat until hew gets himself a gf ( or bf) and hopefully they'll be so horrified at this and change your son. I should say, I speak from experience OH came to me with v limited diet I simply told him I wouldnt stand for it.:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Do you cook this mixture first or just when it get thrown into your meal?0 -

And maybe you're right about waiting for gf/bf but as he's still at home while going to college so I'd like to make the effort.
He's agreed to try roast parsnips (cos of caramelised sweetness), but I cant think of any other veg that he might eat without disguise.0 -
out of interest, has he always lived with you? ( are you a step family I mean)
Im jsut wondering how hes got to this age without eating any veg ( ie not getting scurvy)
Does he eat jam?

I agree, the mush idea.
I make onion (previously cooked or raw) mush with a stick blender, and it goes in my beef gravy, or in spag bol. Also I stick-blend tinned tomatoes for spag bol/shepherds pie type dishes, they go unnoticed.
Also, cooked carrot mush will go in anything red without being noticed. Sounds like you already do something similar.
Then theres things like banana, stick-blended with milk (or ice cream) for a smoothie, I always add a handfull of grapes to this. I spose most fruit would make into a smoothie.
Green veg, especially peas, are the most difficult stuff to make into mush and hide, as they are a very unappealing shade of green, which some people dont like the look of!! I avoid 'mushing' peas into stuff.
A glass of carton pure orange counts as one of the five.

Always with us and his brother and sisters enjoyed a fully varied diet until they left home. And he does eat veg, just not many kinds
