Headphones (High Quality)

I have a mediocre pair of headphones for my hifi. They are a few years old (cordless phillips) and they crackle!!

I have been looking at some Bose headphones, which claim they can cancel external noise (eg if you wanted silence you could get it) but they are way out of my budget. *Edit - by about £125, so i'll be looking at £100 - £150 for the right pair*

Do any of you fine people have any advice / recommendations?

1. Preferably codless

2. Multi-use eg Music (stereo and effects) & surround sound for movies

3. Noise cancelling would be great

4. Size, they would have to be non bulky.

Thanks in advance

have you looked at seinheisser's , i have a pair of r80's(?) which meet all the above criteria - although they are a bit bulky . Think i paid around £80 from unbeatable a couple of years ago ,but they are still great. the only problem is the batteries don't last as long now
