Some people put milk in their freezer so i suppose that counts."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

Chicken stock. Frozen veg. Vodka.0
-
essentials for us are bread, HM chicken stock or chicken carcasses ready to make into stock, some meat, pre-soaked and cooked bags of chickpeas and HM fish cakes (my daughter loves them so I like to have a bag of them so she can have one every week)0

I thought I had all the essentials but I can see I've been missing the vodka
Apart from that I have
peas and sweetcorn -absolutely essential no-effort veg that all my kids like. I add them to all sorts of things from frozen.
bread -homemade and pitta breads -sliced loaves are a good stand-by too.
homemade stock -usually chicken but sometimes ham or game (lots of goose stock at the moment) -for making soup, stews/casseroles and risottos
berries -blackberries and others acquired over the year. There's always something to make into a pudding at the weekend.
Apart from that I have various things from my building blocks list.

HM stock (turkey and pheasant atm), breadcrumbs, fish, prawns, quorn pieces, HG fruit and veg (berries, peas, sweetcorn, damsons, plums, tomatoes, aubergine, beans), sliced bread for the children to make themselves a toastie, HM rolls for lunches, Ben and Jerry's (from when it was on special offer
).
I also have casseroles and pasta sauces so that I can have a HM meal for the family on the days that I'm at w***.
I emptied the freezer before Christmas, but will soon be ordering beef and lamb boxes from a local farm. They come fresh, but I freeze them.

If you think thats bad, you should see my fridge, which only ever contains, milk, wine, filter coffee, butter and a decomposing bag of salad.
My mother despairs everytime she sticks her head in there.
If am cooking, I tend to buy fresh, and just what I need for that meal otherwise, I end up wasting and throwing food out.0
