Hi everyone...
My food processor gave up and died last night.... so I need to get a new one... feel lost without it
So if anyone can recommend a good one... please do... I don't want to spend too much... but would like one that is going to last me a good long time...
I prefer buying stuff on recommendation as I usually choose badly otherwise lol!
Thanks in advance

I have a magimix cost 140.00 but really worth the money and all the parts are easily replaceable. I have had it 8 years.0

I've got a Kenwood basic model. It works really well except the smooth, oval shaped control know is a devil to use with floury handsDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
I got this one and its fab. Bargain price at the moment ( 20.56) and free delivery.

Another vote for Magimix here, the motor is guaranteed for 12 years. Got mine from John Lewis (it was about £200 2 years ago). It does everything, doesn't take up too much space. I've got the one with the larger bowls, the hook makes great bread.0

Another vote for magimix. If you can afford it, think of it as an investment! If you use it alot it'll be well worth it.0

I bought a Magimix from Lakeland, which was good BUT I found that to use the smaller bowls, i had to place them in the larger bowls, which was difficult when full of bread dough! So, I phoned the lovely Lakeland people and swapped it for a Kenwood Prospero (£169 in Lakeland, but about £149 in Argos. I would go for Lakeland every time! Great service and guarantees....)
I love the Prospero. It is small enough to stay out on the work surface, has a stainless steel bowl for mixing (use it regularly for baking), a blender attachment, general processor with several slicing/dicing blades, and a citrus juicer.
The Magimix was great, I know that they are indestructible, sleek and the choice of any chef worth his/her salt, but the Kenwood is just as fab IMO!
Good luck with your decision!:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -
I think I am going to go for the Kenwood Prospero... it looks lovely and has so many different bits.... and apparently Kenwood gets my nans vote (worlds best baker in my opinion lol)....
I am picking it up today so will let you know how I get on... my best mate is nagging me for another lemon drizzle cake so hopefully it will come out ok lol!
Thanks for all the recommendations....

I bought a Prospero at Christmas and it's the best thing I did. I like Kenwood anyway and this model suits me down to the ground. It fits neatly into a corner of my work surface and, being stainless and silver, is very contempory looking. I like the large stainless bowl because I can make a big cake mix which is easy to get out of the bowl, unlike a food processor that has the tube up the middle, and the fact that it is stainless means that I can't break it! My mum likes it so much that she is looking for one now which is how I came across this site. I googled prospero for the best price and up to now, I've found one for £130.03, including P & P from electrical123.com . Hope this helps.
