edited 11 July 2009 at 3:26PM in It's gone, but was it any good?
ELC is shutting down, Trafford centre is already gone, we have just bought "Snow Queen Palace" for £17(was £75). Manchester is open for a few more weeks. We had been in the Trafford centre in the morning and everything was half price. at 2:30pm the manager was dropping prices in the queue. If you know when your local store is closing let's getem on here. I will add anymore that I hear about as soon as possible. Elc is closing after the buy out by Mothercare so a large number of stores are closing and some will become mothercare

I always thought that ELC was one of those shops where they over-expanded and had too many sites. Plus the stuff was pretty expensive anyway. Hopefully a few bargains for some MSE'ers.

wow that's a shock, I worked for them for a bit but left just as the mothercare buy out happened. Their toys are expensive but as a mom of 3 they are worth it for quality alone, non of my toys r us or mothercare items have withstood the play like the elc things.

Perhaps it's places where there is a big Mothercare and ELC?
  • The Oldham branch shut down about a month ago...it's a shame really as the toys are excellent quality and now we have no ELC or woolworths I have no where except the big supermarkets to buy toys from.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

No sign of these types of clearance in my local store. Just a normal sale with not that much off
  • My little one won a lot of ELC vouchers in a competition not so long ago, we still have quite a few to spend and at present there was nothing else he needed but I will keep a close look at this thread.
If anyone knows of any impending closures in the south west area I would love to know. Thankyou.

was in my local ELC yesterday, didnt show any hint of it closing, still the usual stock, had a great sale on, granted they did have a few random old stock items included but we picked up some right bargains all because the box was damaged.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
