You can't, DVD+R and -R are very different beasties, most computer drives can handle both (as the hardware/software to write them isn't all that different), dual format drives became the norm around 2004. Nowadays you may run into problems with what you're using to play it back, cheap players may not manage both (rare) or might not manage some brands of disc (+ or -).
