I've got a 6 month old daughter and I've decided that every year I'd like to make a christmas decoration for the tree with her. My mum always had loads of homemade decs made by us and I thought it was lovely. I'd like to make this a tradition so the xmas tree becomes personal and a story of her growing up. Sounds schmaltzy but I like the idea! So, obviously she's only 6 months old at the moment and not up to much gluing or sticking, so any ideas for what I could do with her this year? Get your creative juices flowing (or if you've seen anything to buy I'm not averse to cheating this year!).

Sounds a lovely idea!
I bought a set of 4 clear baubles from Boots and you add 2 of your own photos to them. I've put a pic of each of my boys in and going to give them to the OH and grandparents as part of their pressie from the boys.
I think the baubles were £5.99 for 4 which I thought was pretty expensive but bought them with Boots points so in effect they were free. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Wooden curtain rings!
You can buy a pack in Wilkinson for a couple of quid.
Just cover the back with a piece of card and you can stick photos of your daughter on them, add a bit of ribbon through the metal ring at the top. You could paint the curtain rings with gold paint or add some glitter, I wrapped some of mine in ribbon.
You could add to it every year with newer pictures of your daughter.
I made some, they are on my blog they might give you some idea what they look like http://mrsspookscrafts.blogspot.com/2008/11/from-curtain-rings-to-christmas-tree.html0 -
Ooh, I like the curtain ring idea, could be something I'll look at. I'm completely not crafty at the moment, but would like to be for my daughter's sake by the time she's old enough to appreciate it! This could be a good starting point.0
