In 2004 the legendary Billy Smart's Circus was brought back to life after a gap of more than 30 years. And now, in its new format, the circus is seting up at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff from 10-21 September.
The ‘old’ Billy Smart’s stopped touring after 1971. As a 5000-seat ‘giant of the road’, the original Billy Smart’s Circus was famous for its style as well as size. And now the new version has been voted ‘Best Circus in Britain’ by members of the Circus Friends’ Association, the fan club of circus experts.

There are no animals, but innovation and quality are top of the agenda for the international company of human performers. The 2008 show includes trapeze stars The Flying Bull Dancers, aerialist Romain Cabon from Brittany, multiple award-winner Cheeky, cheerful Mexican clown Chico Rico and, from Kazakhstan, the exotic Timur Yakobi Troupe.
WalesOnline has FIVE family tickets (two adults and up to three children) to be won. To enter simply email us the answer to the following question, along with your name, address and daytime telephone number:
Q: What type of circus animal was Dumbo?
Closing date: Thursday, 4 September 2008.
