Looking around and havn't a clue where to start. I would prefer to use someone recommended.
Any suggestions and how much does this normally cost? We are in a 3 bed/ 2 story mid terraced house.
Thanks a lot

Contact the Energy Saving Trust on 0800 512 012 ( http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/ ). There are usually grants or incentive schemes you can get to assist with installing energy saving measures. They will also provide you with a list of approved installers.0

If you can do it yourself it will save you too. We have just done ours, all types of insulation are on BOGOF in B&Q at the minute, we got the eco-wool stuff, no itch - made from recycled bottles and DH had it down in a few hours.
We have also had the cavity wall insulation done and we got a grant back from the Energy Savings people for this.
If you aren't able to do it yourself, call them and they will send you out lists of recommended people. You don't get any cash back if you do it yourself as we asked - they say you have saved through the BOGOF scheme which they have running with B&Q. AFAIK this offer with B&Q ends on 7th/8th November so get your skates on!!

Anyone used any of these suppliers? Preferably the Carrick/Belfast area ones?

Well we got the cavity wall insulation installed. Used DCI energy control in Carrick through the energy saving trust.
We got our cheque back there, didn't take long to get the £150 back, we got the cavity wall done at the beginning of July. So got it done for £100! Very easy to do from beginning to end. Would recommend using this scheme to anyone.
We also got the loft insulation rolls in B&Q on BOGOF which worked out cheaper than using the grant available. We are in the process of putting this down and flooring some of the loft for storage.
so hopefully we should have a toasty warm house this winter
