Whole camembert cheese and / or turkey rashers

Options
Help - what can I do with camembert other than spread on biscuits? (Preferably low calorie.......)

Also 4 packs of turkey rashers which are NO substitue for the real thing!!!!!

I have tons of stuff in cupboards - tins, beans,, spices etc so expect I will be able to cover any suggestions!!!

Thanks!

Hi ali,you could wrap the turkey rashers around the camembert and quickly fry in a very hot pan, bacon goes crispy and cheese melts slightly.
We use the turkey rashers in spaghetti carbonara,I admit they are not as nice as bacon but not too bad.
You could also use the camembert in a cheese sauce or melt it on top of steak,or simply coat in breadcrumbs and deep fry it,yummy!

camembert put a chicken breast/ piece on a piece of foil, add some cheese, add herbs, salt, pepper, stick in oven until cooked, voila cheesy chicken

turkey rashers errrr fry and add to bolognese? chilli? stew/ risotto?
  • I use turkey rashers in a kind of savoury rice/risotto thing - I just chop them and fry them in a little oil and add onion, celery, leek, mushrooms (any veg I have really) and then throw in 8oz of rice (for one packet of rashers) and double the quantity of stock made with Kallo chicken cubes, some herbs and a good shake of white pepper. I just cook by the absorbtion method and then when it is done I add a little knob of margarine and it's lovely! I love camembert cheese just plain on crackers, but I also like it with grapes on crusty bread.

I really like turkey rashers TBH, I havent had them in aaaages.

One thing that the weightwatchers 123 cookbook suggests to do with them is to grill them till crispy and crumble on the top of soups, or salads.

sorry, cant help you with the camenbert - Id deep fry it and have with thin italian breadsticks :)

Yes heat it up but cut it in half and put in some apple jelly/cranberry jelly or similar and then put the half back on - put back in box and cover it with tinfoil and heat till melted - grissini sticks, celery sticks, carrot sticks too are great and its a wonderful starter.

Thanks for all the low cal offerings :D .

Lynz, you can come & collect the rashers if you want......

methinks I will be cooking risotto thingy for dinner tomorrow - have some manky veg so will go nicely with it!!!!

think it will be cheesy chicken for cheese on the basis that, as it has chicken in it, I can pretend it's healthy.....

but whole in box sounds wonderful.....also wrapped in the turkey rashers...

am not asking any more for recipes on here as I end up more confused than ever!!!!!;)

obviously you make a foil parcel with the foil, fold over opposite sites and twist the ends, then it steams it and makes a cheesy gooey sauce
