Grass Snake, the company which recently launched an innovative product to help users avoid accidents with electric garden machinery and DIY power tools, has gained two awards in the prestigious Industry Awards 2007. Grass Snake won Silver Awards in the Garden Equipment and Hardware categories for its unique Grass Snake Cable Grip – which has now won five awards in just nine months.
The Grass Snake Cable Grip acts as a safe and simple hands-free cable tidy. When clipped on to a machine’s power cable and attached to the user’s trousers, it tows the cable safely behind the user, away from blades and entanglements and leaving both hands free to operate the equipment safely. The device can be fitted and removed in seconds even when wearing gloves, and alerts the user by tugging at their slacks if the electric cable snags on entanglements.
“On average, 7000 accidents specifically involving electrical gardening equipment occur in Britain every year. Our product should help reduce
that huge number,” says director Frank Landamore. His company intends to apply for a RoSPA Gold Safety Award with the product next year.
The Grass Snake Cable Grip has an RRP of £3.99. It is available from Wyevale Garden Centres and online stores this summer, or from the company’s online shop at www.grasssnake.co.uk
OG has 75 Grass Snakes, worth £3.99, to give away! Competition closes on Friday, 6th July at 9:00am
