1. The competition is free to enter.

3. The competition will run from 01 April 2009 to 30 June 2009

4. Entry to the competition is free. No purchase necessary.

5. The competition is open to individual residents of the UK aged 18 or over, except employees of Independent News and Media Limited (“INM”), BE broadband and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their families, agents, or anyone connected with this competition, including the third-party promotional partners.

6. There are a total of 13 weekly prize draws including 3 grand prize draws at the end of each month. Entrants are required to register to enter their broadband speed. All details can be found at https://www.independent.co.uk/howtobe. Winners will also be responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prize, as set out and in accordance with these terms and conditions.

7. The winners of the prize draws will be announced at https://www.independent.co.uk/howtobe and drawn as follows:-

Week nine: closing date 02 June (midnight GMT). Prize: Toshiba Camileo Pro HD Camcorder

Week ten: closing date 09 June (midnight GMT). Prize: 8GB iPod touch

Week eleven: closing date 16 June (midnight GMT). Prize: Nintendo Wii Console

Week twelve: closing date 23 June (midnight GMT). Prize: 8GB iPod touch

8. Multiple entries will not be accepted. It is one entry per the duration of the whole campaign.

9. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, INM reserves the right to draw another winner from the entries.

10. INM will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind, or lost or unavailable network connections that may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant's ability to participate in the competition.

11. Registration, completion and submission of an online competition entry form will be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

12. INM reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition (including altering prizes) if, at its sole discretion, a competition is not able to be conducted as specified. The INM reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond its control make this unavoidable.

13. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

14. The promoter of the competition is INM in association with BE broadband.

15. Where you have indicated that you would like BE broadband to contact you in the future, you agree that your relevant personal details will be held by BE broadband and may be used by BE broadband, other companies within the BE broadband group (details of which are available on request) or BE broadband’s agents, partners or licensees, to promote, to consider ways of improving, and to send you information about BE broadband products and services. Your details may accordingly be transferred to any country in which companies within the BE broadband carry on business, including to countries outside the EU which may not provide levels of protection in respect of personal data as high as those which apply in the EU. BE broadband may also transfer your information to another company or entity in the event that any part of its business is transferred to or merged with that company or entity or when required to do so by law.
