Household bargains in Bristol and Bath (eco-friendly too!)
Emmaus Bristol runs a warehouse from which you can purchase goods reconditioned by the Companions - people who choose to live in the Emmaus community. They are advertising bikes, computers, stereos, electrical appliances, furniture.
They will also collect your donations for re-furbishing. Brilliant organisation, doing brilliant work (no I don't work for them!)
Similar to this is The Sofa Project, but you can only buy from them if you are on a low income or on benefits. Sofa Project has shops in Bristol and Bath and collects from both areas.
There is also the Bristol Wood Recyling Project if you are into building your own furniture or DIY or need wood for any other reason!
As well as getting stuff cheaper here than you might elsewhere, you are also reducing the amount of rubbish going into landfill. Winners all round!

Emmaus are very good. If you have transport or live out that way, the Kingswood Furniture Project are similar to the Sofa project but are smaller and much cheaper than Sofa.
Can any body better my recent discovery of cheap white vinegar? The Bristol Sweet Mart wholesale shop (just on the other side of St Mark's Road) is selling 5 litres for £2.90.0 -
