think it maybe a scam site....google ads & clicks
I quickly got a toy site up and running http://www.toyhound.co.uk just in time for the Christmas shopping spree. However, i started my adwords campaign at 0.08p a click when google said 0.02 was the minumum for the keywords i had chosen. For the first day got loads of clicks ( spent £14 and made £24 ), not bad for the first day but then the next morning logged in to adwords and no clicks had come through for the day. So i checked the ad group and blam! the minimum click through cost had jumped from £0.02 to £0.15 - £0.20 per click. I know it's christmas by that is a ridiculous jump in price.

Anyone else experienced that kind of hike in keyword prices?

    Hi

I would not say it is a scam site at all. Adwords is used to promote sites, to advertise his site on other peoples site, you must have seen "ads by google". So it is not a scam. I suspect the OP has a vested interest in posting the URL however. To me it looks like a shopping directory style affiliate site. A middle man if you like. You are better off using a cashback site instead, then at least the commission earned is shared with the user also.

If adwords are advertised on his site then this is called Google adsense and this places ads on his pages whereby people clicking thru on these ads earns the site owner money... that still would not make it a scam site as the ads are contextual to the page they are on, as in the ads are completely relevant to the subject of the page. In fact this gives the user of the site the choice to go of to other sites. None of this is not present on this site. So the forum post on A4U is about the attempts at attracting people to his site, that is all.

I can't see google ads anywhere. The OP is using a referral link though, so don't use it.

http://www.toyhound.co.uk/boomerang.php - that's the non referral link to the offer, and terms and conditions.

http://www.dreamhomesww.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/info.freebuyersguide.cfm?promo=59 - that's the link to the part of the offer where you fill in your details.

It does seem strange about them not asking for a postal address though. Perhaps they will send an email asking for it. If not, an email to toyhound is on the cards!

I had this offer via e-mail, too. Haven't noticed this thread so I've posted mine. I don't remember signing up for their newsletter, but got 2 e-mails from them recently. Anyway, the leaflets come to your inbox and you suppose to confirm your postal address when they send you an e-mail in about 2 weeks.

    We'll see..
