Everyday festive activites for children

Options
I did have a quick look thro a search but couldnt find much.

From the 1st dec i am hoping to do a festive related activity with my children everyday.

So far i have:
Write crimbo cards out for school friends,
Watch a festive film,
Bake cookies,
Put decs / tree up
Hoping to find a website with free printouts Festive pics for kids to colour in,
Play some board games,

Does anyone else have any ideas of something i can do with our children (ages 5, 8 & 11yrs) for max 1 hr a weekday and not too costly, to get us in the festive spirit and make the most of this magical time of year!

Thanks you for any suggestions :T

    Make paperchains?
Go carol singing (if your local school/community are organising anything)
Look at the Christmas lights around your town
  • you can bake spiced cookies, and punch holes in them so that they can be hung up on teh tree.
they could make paper chains, get some coloured paper, and some pritt stick and you're off!
make up a little christmas song and record/video it?
making cristmas cards (excuse to get the glitter out!)
making a patchwork advent calendar or stocking (might take a few sessions)
  • If you've saved your cards from last year, you could cut out gift tags from them.
(If not, save some this year!)

Go out and hand deliver local cards.

    Write a letter to Santa.

    Make mince pies.

Take pictures dressed up in santa hats (or whatever) and email/print off for relatives.

decorate some cheap plates in Xmas style to put your mince pies etc on.

fold some paper & make snowflakes then get the glitter out to decorate

make a santa stop here sign - we bought a kit from ELC & are putting it together on Xmas Eve

make some marsipan (sp?) fruits - we usually just do coloured balls as DD can manage this & quite a bit goes as we are making them.

make some sausagerolls - these can get frozen till Xmas

    make reindeer food.

go for a wintery walk, feed the ducks etc if you have a pond close by. We love finding puddles with ice to crush through!

make your own stockings with some felt - this is cheap in craft shops

will probably think of some more things later
