Found a link on Diabetes.co.uk
There's a banner for upgrading your accu chek meter. I've got the Vita (and a few others!) but they still upgraded my old OneTouch!
Link: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/whats-new-on-the-site.html
It''s the blue banner that says TIME TO UPGRADE. It's free!!
They also changed the free Bayer meter competition to a giveaway - and they changed the meter again too! I'll post this into the competitions bit though!

thought this looked intersting as my mum is diabetic but she never checks her blood sugar, its actualy an upgrade though so you have to have one of their machines already as you have to give them the serial number off it, was worth a try though0

As I have said before, if you are genuinely a diabetic and in need of one of these then the companies will be only too happy to give you one. If you are ordering for someone else you should check with them first as often GPs are not happy to change prescriptions. Also, there are different sample sizes. Freestyle are the smallest and people using these will not want to change to a larger size as it is generally more painful. If you want to help out a diabetic partner, relation or friend why not get them a years subscription to Diabetes UK which has loads of adverts for free machines (and puts a lot of money into research), then others will hopefully stop clogging up ebay with these free samples that they never had any intention of using.0
