Dear Sir/Madam
Our clients have attempted to contact you on numerous occasions without success. There may be a genuine reason why you have failed to contact our client or to make payment but as we are not aware of a dispute with this debt, we must make it clear that their efforts to contact you will continue and the outstanding balance of your debt will not be written off.
We aim to be both constructive and commercial in our attitude towards collection of outstanding debts. If you contact us, we may be able to agree a substantial reduction of your debt, in order to achieve an early settlement.
If you are unable to make payment of a lump sum to discharge your debt, we are prepared to discuss an instalment agreement which is acceptable to both parties.
We repeat, efforts to contact you will continue until such time as we can conclude this matter satisfactorily.
Yours sincerely
GPB
My hubbie has said that the only time he has been chased for money was for £90 10 years ago (do they really chase for this long for a small amount?) which was because a car insurance co said they hadn't received proof of no claims (he had sent it twice, the 2nd time sending the original without taking a copy doh). He did get a few debt letters but nothing else happened. This was 4 addresses ago. He was going to ring them today but I thought I would try and get some advice first because once he rings they will then have further details ie know he is male! Is it unusual that they don't know his first name or even that he is male!?!? We do have a fairly uncommon surname and he is on the electoral register, could they just be trying their luck? I am a bit of a worrier and don't like ignoring things.
Any help would be appreciated. I know its for a small amount compared to may people posting on here but didn't know where best to start the thread.

Hi i would write to the company asking for proof of the debt but don't acknowledge it just incase it is not yours. Find out what it is then you can decide what to do.

Hi
How did it go?? my OH has received several letters from these people and has replied many times but they don't acknowledge written communications for some reason and keep sending the standard letter. Can I report this Credit Company to the Financial Omnbusman?
Any help appreciated."I AM THE GATEKEEPER OF MY OWN DESTINY" Nacho Libre

Send them letter as tomterm has advised previous poster. Look through all the other letters as well. There could be some in there that may be of use to you. And always check your credit reports to make sure defaults have not been added to you file by the DCAs. And yes you can report them.Night Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:
