How many islands make up the Seychelles?

115

The soft, sandy shores and warm tranquil waters of the Indian Ocean would have you believe that the Seychelles are somewhere close to heaven. In fact, they’re scattered off the coast of Africa, where all 115 islands bask in the glow of year-round sunshine, with gentle breezes coming in from the sea. The Sunday Times Travel Magazine and Luxuryholidaysdirect.com are giving you the chance to win a seven-night, half-board holiday at Labriz, a beach hideaway on mountainous Silhouette Island.
Sandwiched between a bone-white beach and the tropical forest of Mount Dauban, this five-star resort offers guests an idyllic escape. The winner and a friend will stay in an Ocean Pavilion, which comes with its own pool set in a private garden. The prize also includes Air Seychelles flights, and you’ll each enjoy a 30-minute treatment in the Aquum Spa, which is tucked among enormous rose-coloured granite boulders on the jungle slopes, with unrivalled views across the Indian Ocean.
Labriz has extensive facilities, but if your lust for adventure stretches beyond the infinity pool, tennis courts, diving school or gym, you can explore the island’s exotic wilderness on a nature trail or mountain trek led by expert guides. The jungle is home to rare orchids as well as several endemic animal species, including the sheath-tailed bat. You can also visit Silhouette’s giant-tortoise sanctuary.

I propose that every Comp forum user has one option per year to use a "mine only" declaration where they are the only person who can enter that competition. Anyone else agree?

If so, even so some people have already entered, I'm using mine on this:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    So no-one else enter

    Thanks ricky

Sorry to have to throw a stone into the (beautiful crystal-clear bejewelled) waters here but there are two possible answers to the question. According to Wikipedia:
The number of islands in the archipelago is often given as 115 but the Constitution of the Republic of Seychelles lists 155.
However the "official destination website" for the Seychelles quotes 115 on their home page. And all the other Google hits I saw showed 115 too.

I imagine the Times wants us to say 115 but I thought I should point out the discrepancy and then you can choose which one to use.
Many tx to all who post constructively in all the forums!

    Cheers for that.

I only hope that, for my sake and everyone else's, 115 is what they want! icon7.gif
