Hi, I've just been given a Kenwood Chef from Freecycle. Its got no instructions book, so how do I find out which model it is? DH says its got no markings that he can see.

If you look under the body you should see a plate with the model number on - well done by the way, you have a fine machine!0

Hello again. I've answered my own question. There's a metal plate underneath that says "model no. A901E" I think that's a dead giveaway, but DH says he never saw it!!
It's really old and in need of a good scrub, I think its been in someone's garage. Also no instructions of any kind, so maybe need to get some from somewhere? It sound a bit noisy, but tbh I've never come across one before, so I don't know how it should sound. Can't complain though as it was free. I'm planning on trying HM butter as a first job, then HM scones with the buttermilk. I bought a pack of clotted cream today just in case:D0 -
On the underside should be a silver sticker with the voltage rating (i.e. 220V), the serial number, and the model number. If you`re after accessories the model numbers for them should be printed under the cover thingies.
I have a A907D which I got over 10 years ago at a jumble sale for 20p! It`s the Major model with a tall stainless steel bowl - fantastic for breadmaking. It`s equally as tough as my Volvos!!0 -
Hi, Toxic Lemon, I was thinking more about if the machine needed oiling or greasing. Is that something that needs to be done, or is it a sealed unit?0

Those machines are great. My mum's one is almost 40 years old and still gets used regularly. I'd quite like one but the one I want is over £200.0
