Is it true that Kitchenaid attachments fit Kenwoods?

I desperately want a grain mill for my Kenwood Chef 701.
I think I read soewhere that the Kitchenaid grain mill would fit.

Is this right?

  • I've never heard anything like that - only that Delonghi mixer stuff will also fit the Kenwood A901, KM series and newer as Delonghi has taken over North American distribution for Kenwood and they are the same machine with a different label.

I can't imagine that anything from Kitchenaid would fit a Kenwood.

You can still get grain mills on ebay for the A701 - you may have to wait a bit but they come up every few weeks or so? I got mine at a car boot sale, so you could try looking there too.

    Good luck!!

I've been looking on ebay for a few months and nothing has come up - although I did find a mill for the 901 once.

I think I might look at getting a stand alone mill

  • hmmmmmmmm what are you putting in as your search words? I am sure I saw one quite recently - they have a few different names - grain mill, multi-grain mill, flour mill, wheat mill, etc.

  • I have a stand alone grain mill and its amazing! It makes wonderful bread. I use it for grinding wheat and making sauces such as cheese. It really brings the sauce to life and gives it great flavour. However its not for the perfectionist who insists on pure white sauces as you end up with tiny bits of bran in it. I think it makes it look great though!

I went for a granite stone one so im making authentic stone ground flour. It was very expensive (£345  ) however I dont think i'd have been as impressed with a cheaper one... but then im a geek!

Leonie, this is all your fault again! ;-) Well, also my friend's mum's fault who keeps on about her fantastic grain mill she's had for 30 years.

I'm just going to have to get one...off to see how much I have in my quidco account...

Ooops sorry, only just notice a reply!

I do love mine. Bread is lovely, I use half home ground and half shop bought strong white as the kids dont like full wholemeal. Its nice to eat such healthy bread! When the wheat is just ground, it smells a bit like baby rice!

Really fantastic to use it in recipes as it just makes things seem 'nicer'
