I guess if baby is happy on C&G just stick with it,

that's my thought - and I was thinking, everytime you buy it, put the difference with the more expensive one in a money box :)

    Hello
Newbie here.. hope this is ok.
Both Cow and Gate and Aptamil are owned by the parent company Nutricia (I know some one who works for them).
They both contain pre biotics but a the moment Aptamil contains the pre biotic mix which is the closest to breast millk, that is really the only difference as ar as I am aware, as long as your little one is happy on the milk they are getting dont worry would be my advice.

The baby clinics don't sell cheap baby formula anymore due to 'breast is best' WHO recommendations.

Same reason why baby formula is not included in promotions, discounts, bogofs, etc at shops/supermarkets. Once they reach progress milk stage (if you decide to use progress milk 6+ months) then this is often on offer.

Gone a bit OT -I hadn't realised that baby clinics had taken that to not sell baby formula-whilst I recognise that breast is best I also appreciate there are many reasons why a mother would chose not do or may not be able to breast feed. As the WHO guidance points out there are also many socioeconomic factors behind many not breastfeeding and I had thought that was why the baby clinics sold it at cost (and why you could use milk tokens to buy baby formula milk(not follow on milk) if you're on benefits but perhaps that's changed now too? Sorry gone off topic now but puzzled -this guidance http://http://www.usdaw.org.uk/equality/resource_library/files/RLFmaternityPackLft5/MaternityRightsLft50408.pdf(Pg 20) health benefits indicates that baby formula available to all at some clinics even if not on benefits. I'll wind my neck back in now :p
