I think they run additional comps (like the Black Friday one the OP on the thread was referring to) on FB from time to time (I don't enter them, but I guess those would be one offs, so just listed on the main board as usual - the OP listed a Bonfire Night one on the main board too), but the main number plate draw does, yes, run like the postcode & DOB lotteries.

You register once with a number plate and email address, then check back each day.

If you click on the blue circle with "today's winner" it takes you to:

http://www.numberplatelotto.co.uk/today

which displays the winning number plate for today (runs 9pm to 9pm). If that number plate is yours then you click on the blue circle with "claim prize" in. You enter the email address that you registered for the number plate you used and get a congratulations email, then PayPal payment within about 24 hours (I have a friend who won).
