Hi,
My partner was declared bankrupt in july 2009 and he now wants to print his discharge notice off, I can no longer find details of his bankruptcy on the insolvency website for some reason, he did have a BRO applied for 3 years but I find it odd we cant find anything under his name.
Can anyone advise me further
Thanks

Hi - Baankrupcy is no longer shown on the IS website after you have been discharged. You will need to write/email your OR's office or you can get a certificate from the Court that heard your petition but I understand there is a charge of around £80 if you do it this way.0

Thanks so much, he assumed he would automatically receive the certificate via the post after the year was up and then forgot about it. I will get him to phone the OR then to try and obtain that ways as he doesn`t want to pay that much for it.

I was always under the impression you had to go through the court you declared yourself bankrupt at to get a 'Certificate of Discharge' I think I paid about £60 two years ago for mine.0

You can print of your status as discharged within 3 months from the insolvency service online, I also asked my trustee for a letter of confirmation.0

Try this...
discharge.queries@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk
and they will need...
1) Your current and previous address
2) Date of Birth
3) National Insurance number
4) Bankrupt number of what year and what court (should be on bankruptcy paperwork EG...207/2009 if you dont have contact the court you attended)
They will then supply in writing confirmation of discharge free of chargeNot quite a newbie as you think

That's fantastic, thankyou so much! He has emailed them just now so hopefully they will supply what we need in writing free as you have advised.
Many thanks again
