So just to be clear the 46 in post 28 above get you a score of 46?

I suspect that someone at Parlophone has simply mistyped the entry and it bears no resemblance to the real answer - in which case we're doomed ...:wall:

Actually I think it's a case of bad programming. All the missing answers include either a hyphen or apostrophe. These have special meanings in strings. The hyphen is a word-break and apostrophe the start or end of a string. If the input is not handled correctly "Dexy's Midnight Runners", for example, will get changed to "Dexy".

The program then compares your input "Dexy" to the answer "Dexy's Midnight Runners" and decides it is wrong.

It this is the case there will be no way of entering the correct answer. :(

I'm trying to build on everyone's hard work :T:T:T by checking each answer, one at a time. I've got as far as the first 30 so far and can't get #25 - yet. But I think I've got the others right as my score is showing 29 with all blanks from 31 on:

So here are my first 30 answers:

    1) Supergrass - I should coco
    2) David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat
    3) The Verve - Forth
    4) Jamelia - Thank you
    5) Ultravox - Brilliant

    8) Sigur Ros- Takk
    9) Kylie - Fever
    10) Richard Hawley - Standing at the Skys edge
    11) Gorillaz - Demon Days
    12) Kraftwerk - Tour De France
    13) Radiohead - OK Computer
    14) Iron Maiden - Killers
    15) Deep Purple - Machine Head
    16) David Bowie - The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from mars
    17) Pet Shop Boys - Actually
    18) Coldplay - Parachutes
    19) Richard Ashcroft - Keys to the world
    20) Cilla Black - Cilla
    21) Athlete - Tourist
    22) John Lennon - Double Fantasy
    23) Eliza Doolittle - Eliza Doolittle

    28) Tinie Tempah - Discovery
    29) Buzzcocks - Love Bites
    30) Dexy's Midnight Runners - Searching For The Young Soul Rebels

I'll keep trying for the others when I can and if nobody beats me to it, I'll update when I can.

Right, I could've edited my above post, but I wanted to bump to say that we're nearly there. I am now at 49 out of 50. TOTALLY thanks to you guys. On my own I think I would've got 2 right :o

What I've done is to work on each answer one at a time, until that was right - by using what everyone wrote here, and occasionally with a little googling and checking on Amazon. The only one I haven't got right (yet) is #25. Other than that, my list is definitely right.

Thank you to everyone above, for posting the comp, and working on the answers. The first one to get #25 right wins this year's MSE gold star :T:T:T:T:T:T

    1) Supergrass - I should coco
    2) David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat
    3) The Verve - Forth

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got 50/50 :j:j:j:j:j

Well, to be slightly more honest, 'I' didn't. My bruvva did. #25 is: Spirit of Eden. Clearly this is a mistake as that album cover is completely different, but my bro suggested trying their other album titles and this one worked. So I guess he gets the MSE gold star.

Happy New Year everyone, and hope one of us wins this...

    The completed list is:

    1) Supergrass - I should coco
    2) David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat

    4) Jamelia - Thank you
    5) Ultravox - Brilliant

This might or might not apply, but I had probs with this quiz because I kept forgetting that every time you click on an answer, it disappears. So it took me ages to get used to having to position the cursor right, i.e. on the next answer before going back to the page I was copying and pasting from. I suggest you try again. I'm like 99% certain that if you copy and paste the answers I've compiled (from everyone's hard work :D) they should all be right - but perhaps peeps will pm me if that isn't the case and I'll edit my list?

One of them I was stuck with and spelt it wrong. It was Lily Allen. Remember one L HTH.
