Mortgage Endownment Tax?

Options
Hi,

I am a higher rate tax payer and have a mortgage endownment which has been running for 22 years. Will I have to pay tax if I was to cash in my endownment before its maturity? I complete a tax self assessment form each year

Regards MH

Provided this was a qualifying endowment - i.e. if held to maturity no tax will be payable then provided it has run for 10 years (or ¾ of the term) then no tax should be payable.
