Guess the value of this week's item and win £100.

The auctioneers placed an estimate of £300-£500 on this sofa. But how much did it actually go for after a couple of people discovered it carried the mark of respected cabinet makers Gillow?

    A) £750
    B) £1,300 :money::money:
    C) £1,950

[STRIKE]Sorry, have spent ages looking for it but I can't find it :huh:[/STRIKE] Please thank bargainhuntergal for finding the answer!! xxx

Mystery Object - What do you think the function of this month's mystery object?
I have no idea whatsoever!! All help/suggestions gratefully received!

    IMG_6628.jpg

You could win a bottle of Tattinger Brut reserve with 6 glasses

    Send entries to:
    Mystery Object (Nov)
    H&A
    BBC Magazines,
    Tower House,
    Fairfax Street,
    Bristol,
    BS1 3BN

    (UK readers only)

My suggestions that are probably completely wrong:
Ink well (if the head bit comes off)

Could possibly be a Betel Lime box e.g. here or here

Thanks to DaisyBella for suggesting an anointing jar - I think this is a really good suggestion.

I was thinking Anointing Oil container or perhaps a some kind of Wax Seal doodah wotsit. It was only on looking closer at the picture I noticed the funny little face and realised the item is actually quite creepy. Like your lime box idea - but I really have no clue whatsoever!!!! :undecided
