need a new (fixed) mortgage

Hi I am looking for a fixed mortgage over 5 years we have had the house valued at £170000 and have a £150000 mortgage we have £6000 in savings!! I earn £42000 per year and my partner earns £18500 we have been offered 5 year fixed by RBS at 5.49 with a £299 set up at 85% ltv-can anyone beat this or is this the best current deal on the market? If anyone can advise that would be great. we want to reduce the years but keep the repayments to a max of £1050 RBS = £1023 for 23 years-(i think)

If you really earn £420k a year then why not just pay off the mortgage you have?

Sorry that was a typo I wish (i have edited it) it is an 85% ltv if you add in the savings we have of 6grand0
