    well done on your bargain.

After a roast I tend to make a casserole with chunks or slices of beef for a second meal, then for a third I would chop it up really small to make a cottage pie. By this time its been repeatedly cooked and almost falls apart into small pieces.

    good ideas :T
and if you have much left after that or from the cottage pie you could add any leftover veg, wrap in some pastry and bake to make a couple of pasties for lunch maybe:D

    Evening all!
Well the braid was a success and we are slowly working through it-well, OH hasn't tried it yet as he is worried he'd 'get hooked' hehe.
I've got loads of things to do tonight but no energy, isn't that always the case? I wanted to make cupcakes tonight too (I'm obsessed with them) but forgot we'd (ie OH) used the eggs up so will have to get some before Sunday as that's the next day I'll have time to make them. Need to work out what I'll need to buy then, and what we'll get delivered next week, so that I can stay on target for the grocery challenge for Feb.

Right, had better get started on my jobs-dishwasher, Easiyo and bagging up meat to freeze.

I found a donut maker in Tesco at last, I was so pleased I got the £10 one.:j

I came straight home and made the recipe I copied from here. My question is they are only cooking on the bottom. So they turn brownish on the bottom side and the top is not done!

Anyone else with the Tesco one, is this right or have I managed to pick up a duff one.

    Many thanks

I made it. I've read from the beginning (did take me about a week - lol)

I've got so many things on my want to cook/bake list now and I've joined the Feb GC  I got my breadmaker from freecycle. It's a Melissa? with no instructions, can anyone help in tracking some down?

Bootman - I also had the same problem on my 1st batch of donuts but I thought it's cos I was taking too long spooning in the mixture so whacked it in the 2nd time and they were much better.
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

I have the Tesco one as well, and find the same thing happens. The top does cook eventually, but it never really brown. Not sure if that's just something that happens with any doughnut maker, though:confused:

Yes it is :D They never brown off anywhere near as much on the tops thats why I normally dunk them in something. Its nothing to worry about they are still perfectly cooked :D

Thanks for the donut reassurance, Really thought I had a duff one. I will spoon it in quicker next time!

I have had a bit of a spending spree today. My quidco payout this months is £90 wehay! So in celebration I have ordered..........a panny,:j I was feeling left out, I ordered it from Lakeland with the £10 off code so it made it the same price as everywhere else and its been dispatched already. Can't wait.

At least with Lakeland you can return an item no quibble, so if I do produce bricks and decide to go back to hand made I can take it back to them no problem.
