Hi I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to get rid of a mole who has taken a liking to our lawn and is wrecking it. A mole friendly solution would be our first choice but we need it to work quickly as putting the house on the market and lawn is looking worse and worse.
Also does anyone have any recipies for cream of chicken soup my husband has been at me for ages to make it.
Thanks

Moth balls are good for getting rid of moles, shove them down into the run where-ever the molehill appears and they should clear off. You might have to be persistent over a few days shoving them down whereever a new hill appears.

Cream of Chicken Soup
INGREDIENTS- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups chicken stock*
- 2 tablespoons plain flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cups finely chopped, cooked chicken meat
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- In a 3 quart saucepan, heat oil. Gradually stir in flour. Let this form a paste, or roux. Then, gradually stir in the milk and chicken stock and continue stirring until thickened.
- Add chicken to white sauce mixture. Add sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat.
- If soup is not as thick as desired, mix a small amount of cornflour with a small amount of water and add to soup. Simmer for 10 minutes.
**Moles can be added before serving if desired0 -
The title of your question did make me laugh! I have an old gardening book that suggests moth balls, they don't like the smell, they also recommend soaking rags in Jeyes Fluid and putting that down the holes.0

"There is only one way to get rid of a mole"
Factoid One mole can dig 1000 metres of tunnels. The wet and cold winter has meant that moles have been nearer the surface hence the shallow tunnels so that your lawn collapses etc.
I got a mole catcher in and he got rid of it in 2 days using traps. Thankfully for me it was a neighbour's business so he did it for free. But it really is the only sure way of ridding the garden of moles. Phone up a pest controller in the yellow pages and get a price, they probably won't charge you unless they kill the moles/moles.
I doubt you can convince them to leave in a nice wayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
We tried to get rid of our mole humanely, and spent well over £120 in doing so, much to OH's frustration.
We found that the wretched thing would happily dig within a foot of the electronic mole scarer, tunnelled round the humane traps, ignored copious amounts of both used and fresh cat litter put down the tunnels and was immune to special smoke bombs. In the end, we opted for inhumane spring traps. It worked on the second day, and we haven't had a repeat of the situation.
As a bonus, you can make a fake mole hill by making a mound of compost on the lawn and really wind your beloved up on April Fool's Day.
