Hiya,
Im not sure if this is correct place to post im new so go easy on me.
When i was 18 i went for any sort of credit i could get i was only working part time and there was no way i could make all the payments.
Basically years later i have finally realised i need to pay it and stop putting my head in the sand.
The problem is i can remember a some debts and have some letters from companys starting to come to this address but i want to make sure i find all of my debt to get it sorted.
Is there an easy way to do this?I honestly do not have a clue where to start.
Thanks

How old are you now?? If you have not acknowledged and piad on your debts in the last 6 years (5 in Scotland), they may be unenforceable and not appear on your credit report now anyway???0

Hi and welcome
There is no easy way to find all your debts. A good starting point is to get your credit reports (from at least experian and equifax - these are £2 each or you can use free online trials but you need to remember to cancel them). These will not necessarily show everthing but will give you an idea.
As said above how long ago have you been ignoring your debts/paying nothing towards them?
If some are over 6years since you paid then they could be statute barred which would mean you don't need to repay them.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thank you for replies. Debts are around 4 years old (some less ) without payments to them so they will still be payable. im going to get my credit report now and hopefully with that and the companys i remember i will be able to find them all
i know it will total over 15k and there just ones that i can think of
but really need to get my financial state sorted out xx 0 -
If you get new debt collectors suddenly writing to you then its always worth starting by writing to ask for proof of the debt so that they prove that you owe it, and how much you owe and that they have a right to collect it (you don't want to end up paying 2 different people for the same debt!)
Here is a prove it letter template as a start - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11570893&postcount=2A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
