    What would a monthly rise of 0.5% compound to annually?
    The answer is 6.17%.

    Are you happy with an annual house price increase of 6%?
    which would mean house prices doubling in value every 11 and a bit years.

    In theory, but there will no doubt be a dip in that period. What did GB call it??? Tory Boom and Bust??

    very, very true - whoever thinks we're going to have 11 years of 7% continuous growth is as deluded as the people that bang on about a 0.5% increase in one month

    prices are still falling at an alarming rate in my local area, if i didn't know better i'd say the nationwide are making this stuff up

    Had a look on LR at sandwell, the council for West Bromwich.
    Doesn't seem to be still falling at a rapid rate
