Party games for a six year old

My dd is 6 on Monday and we're having a traditonal birthday tea for her (hopefully in the garden, pray for sun) besides from pass the parcel and musical chairs does anyone know any other games we could play. I'm too much of a coward to play musical statues or bumps as I hate having to pick who's out.

I would hate the kids to come to dd's party and be bored, we went to a house party the other week and they had a trampoline which all the kids loved but unfortunatley we haven't and i have visions of them all sitting round the garden yawning.

    | remember as a child going to a party where they hid smarties around the garden, when you found a smartie you got a mini box of them , what about hunt the thimble, or a pinata?

I did think about a hunt the something our garden's not that big to hide things but i could hide clues, we got a pinata ages ago I forgot I'd put it in the loft so thanks for reminding me, just need something to fill it.

All the girls love high school musical and my dd wanted zac effron to come to her party, I was thinking of getting a poster and playing pin the kiss on him with some cut out lips. Just need a cheap poster.

  • You could try a talent show they might like to sing high school musical songs?

At my dd birthday i filled four buckets and they had to guess what was in them, in one i put rice pudding, in another i put jelly, in another i put cotton wool and in another i put baked beans, i covered the tops on the buckets and put a small slit in they absolutely loved it squishing their hands about:j

Don't worry they will have fun whatever you do

    Hi fletty,

Now that your thread has dropped off the front page of Old Style I've moved it over to the Special Occasions board to see if you can get more replies. In the meantime, these threads from that board may help:

Suitable party games for 5 year olds and art ideas

Lets compile a list of Childrens Party Games.....

I know that it's been asked for before, but Party games for a group of 5's

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I love your idea. I may just have to pinch it for my 6 yr old DD's soon birthday. Now, does anyone know where I can find a cheap A3 size poster of Troy from High School Musical?

I'm having terrible trouble finding one too, there is one on hmv for 2.99 but I couldn't order it on Monday and now it's too late, have sent my mum on a mission to the town. :rotfl:

I would just like to thank everyone on here as my daughters birthday was a massive success and half the price we'd normally pay.

The Troy game went down brilliantally even though I could only find a half naked poster of him!!! The girls ( and mums) seemed to enjoy it.

I would also suggest buying a bouncy sound stage from Argos 46-3674079aA69UC450079T.jpg It's been such a huge success we played HSM through the mp3 and the kids loved it!!! http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&langId=-1&q=SOUND&pp=20&c_1=1|cat_12107734|Outdoor+toys|12107855 at only £19.95 it was a bargain as I'd been quoted over £60 to hire a bouncy castle.

NO....its not for beating the kids with:D

Basically, each child takes in turn sitting on a chair with their eyes covered and has a wooden spoon. Another child stands in front and they use the spoon to feel the outline of the person...then they guess who it is as everyone stays quiet.

    Guess what I am game?

Get sticky labels and write down animals or pop stars etc and stick a name to each childs head so they cant see. Then get the kids together and take it in turns for the others to give the child a clue about whats on their sticker until they guess.
