hello!
feeling very chuffed and needed to share where people will understand !!! ... bought a medium chicken at the weekend .. everything went mad and i didn't get round to cooking it till tuesday ...
tuesday - roast chicken and veggies etc (fed 2 children and 2 adults) (took the rest of the meat off and put in tub in fridge) & made chicken stock from carcas.
wednesday - chicken fahitas (or however you spell it!) (2 children and 2 adults)
thursday - turned stock and scraps of chicken from bones into chicken and veg soup for lunch (2 children and 1 adult) - cooked left over chicken and some bacon to make a filling for a pie. (in freezer - will do 2 children and 2 adults with some left over)
friday - finished the soup off (2 children and 1 adult)
plus a couple of lunchtime sandwiches/wraps for assorted packed lunches!
definately a rubber chicken!

didn't know that. do you mean actually make the wine from the sloes, or is it like the gin where you use them to add flavour?
3 lb of sloes
3 lb sugar
7 pints boiling water
Pectic enzyme
The usual yeast and nutrient.
You pour the water over the sloes and mash them in a fermenting bucket and add the sugar. Once it's cooled to room temo add the pectic enzyme, yeast and nutrient and leave to stand for a week. Strain and put into demijohns and continue in the usual way.
I'm told that once bottled up, it's best left a year before drinking - never managed to leave it quite that long myself. (HIC)
HTHIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Lollyfin - I quite like quinoa, but can go soggy if you cook it as long as they say, sometimes I simmer it for 10 mins then leave in a covered pan, so the residual heat finishes off the cooking.
It is great with strong flavours, like stir-fry with loads of soy sauce/terriyaki/hoi san something like that? Or use instead of lentils in a bolognese or something, in the hope that you wont notice them!0
