Wii's Spotted or Wanted. Please post all availability for the Wii here - Part 2 1st Dec 07 at 9:07 AM
    Official MoneySavingExpert Insert:

This is the thread in which people post availability for Nintendo Wii consoles in the UK and abroad (with UK shipping), as and when it happens. Finding one isn't easy; they've been in and out of stock in most places since this time last year, and demand's especially high right now.

Yet you've come to the right place; this thread was even featured in the Daily Telegraph as the premier place to look for deals.

So how do you use it?

For those new to using web Forum's the idea is simple. It's a place where people share information on the latest Wii spots. As the Wii is going in and out of stock at many places; you're going to need to be quick to get one. Keep your eyes open and return to the thread regulaly.

It's important to note when someone spots a Wii and posts about it, it gets added to the end and each post is time stamped. Therefore you'll have more luck moving to some of the later posts in this 'thread'.

What to do if you spot a Wii

Please post the name and location of the shop you saw it in if it's offline, and a direct link if it's online. Also, if possible state whether it's a console-only or bundle deal.

    Still had no luck?

There are a few websites, such as ConsoleHunter, which'll send you updates of Wii deals as they happen. Be warned though, sometimes these are terribly overpriced, so don't get drawn in just because the console's available. This thread is of course about MoneySaving wiiiiiiiiis

    __________________________________________________ ________
Back to the original post. Thanks divadee!

As the other thread has got rather large and is reaching nearly 10k posts i thought i would start a new thread for christmas.

Please post all availability of the wii console in this thread and a link if its online.

If you could also state wether its a bundle deal or console only that would be great.

    Thanks very much.

Right some info Please read before asking

UK and Euro Wiis play in the UK without any compatibility issues though you will have to buy an plug converter for a euro model(two pin plug) at around £3 on ebay.

Wiis from Other countries are not wholly compatible and may be region locked or in the case of Japanese wiis, only play Japanese discs in you have guessed it Japanese(might be a problem if you don't speak the language lol)

    where to try:

Many find that the stock checkers are too slow and suggest keeping open Amazon and John Lewis and press F5 which refreshes the page.

Beware-many websites have sprung up offering Wiis ,some at low prices many will take your money and run.

Be careful out there and hope you get a Wii

Another stock checker for you, you never know they might offer something different http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!.co.uk/Wii-Stock-Alerts.aspx

For some reason it doesn't like the link, it's 'wiipre order' without the space, bizarre

Rang back and spoke to a lady who apologiesed but said they had problems and were ploughing their way through orders. Tried last night when the 179 ones were on the website, order went through the same as the first. Checked my credit card first (the money has been claimed) so rang Argos this morning to find the first order has gone through, delivery on Monday afternoon. Guy said I might get an email, but perhaps not as they are still having problems. so it might be worth checking with your payment card to see if they have claimed the money, then ring and confirmation from Argos. Not brilliant service from Argos but if it results in a Wii ~ Wooo Hooo!

It is possible to do,you need to have

THIS PHONE NUMBER AT HAND: 08701 100 300 (option 1)

This is the number for customer service,it opens Monday at 8.30 am.

DHL will provide you with a German depot address and a unique reference code in that address.

Once they recieve the Wii parcel from Amazon Germany,it is simply forwarded on to your UK address.

This process can obviously be duplicated in France or any other country you require this service.

I am not looking for a Wii console myself, but I do hope this info helps fellow users of this site.

    Thankyou.

    Morning everyone

I just wanted to thank everyone on MSE for helping me get a Wii!!!!! If it wasn't for all the help here, I would still be wandering aimlessly around all the shops hoping one would appear.

After watching all the posts, on Thursday I saw the one for Toys R Us and managed to get one, and it was delivered this morning at 0930 (okay, I was impatient and paid for Saturday delivery ). I am delighted and this will be one happy household on Christmas Day (well, December 1st really, have to check it out first, lol)

So for everyone who is still looking for a Wii, don't give up hope. Keep looking at these posts and you WILL get one. I tried the various stock checkers but I found that it was better to watch the posts on here to be honest.

Thank you everyone for all your help, and Merry Christmas

    Angie
