Website for local business 7th Jan 20 at 12:58 PM
I have a domain with 123 reg and want to build a website 2-4 pages just with information photos and a contact form/page.
I am reasonably good on a computer and wondered if I should build it myself and to what extent?
I have heard wordpress is free and open source but may take time to learn. 123 reg have a website builder which I guess is a bit easier to use but may cost more. I assume Wix is similar to 123 reg.
Just wondered if anyone has any advice before I start?

If you are not going to use a web designer then whatever you do make sure the result looks really good. A business with a clearly home made website will not encourage confidence in the product and you never know what business you will be missing out on.

I would recommend wordpress as simple to start with but not restrictive if you want to go further.

If you want to try it I have spare room on my server you can have to try/get it off the ground.

I will say I offer this as when I started somebody did the same for me which took the risk out of signing up to something and then getting stuck, in my case I stuck with wordpress and all my sites are currently built with it.
