Svelte for Valentines Day :lovethoug 31st Dec 19 at 4:37 PM
Shiny new thread, with all the info carried over as follows:-

Slimming World and Food Optimising is a plan for life, it's not a quick fix and you should look at weight losses over a period of time. There are no prizes for speed of weight loss.

You need to commit to making changes to the food that you buy and how you cook it, because what you've been doing in the past hasn't got you to where you want to be.

You can't use parts of the plan that suit you and forget the rest.

If you are not prepared to make a commitment to change the behaviour that has got you into your current situation then nothing is going to change, and above all things, you need to be honest and accountable for every single mouthful of food that passes your lips.

You need to care enough to take time out to pre-plan your slimming campaign. Look again at the menu plans and see the variety and volume of food you can eat. All you have to lose is the weight.

Slimming World has been successfully helping people lose weight for over forty years, so trust them and read your Food Optimising books again and again.

Food Optimising is easy but life isn't. Losing weight is a battle but you have the battle plan in your food optimising book, your secret weapon is free food, and that, together with your healthy extras and syns add up to a healthy way of eating that can (and should) be a life plan. Success is there waiting for you, go for it!

If you fancy having a go at EE, here are the official 'rules' to ensure that you not only lose weight regularly but get all the nutrition your body needs to function well:-

    Extra Easy:

    1: Choose your Free Food

Most of the food you eat should come from the free foods list; so that's pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish, fruit and vegetables.

And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Speed Foods!

    2: Choose your Healthy Extras

Each day select one Healthy Extra choice and one Healthy Extra choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread, nuts and cereal.

3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day

    -------------------------------------------------------------

If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check:-

    1. Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free

    2. Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)

    3. Whether you're counting everything that should be counted

    4. Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured

    5. Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........

A: increase the proportion of Speed Foods to half of your plate
B: switch to more Speed Foods

    or

C: try Extra Easy SP - details are on this link - https://www.minimins.com/threads/extra-easy-sp-plan.348340/

And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!

Remember we are all here to support each other, and to have fun, and to share in any little disappointments.

Link to the List of Healthy Extras as at April 14

FYI just back from Tesco. They now have the Muller Lights on offer 12 for £3. Plus the Corn Thins are (still?) half price at 65p/pack, you can have 5 as your HEb.

Oh Beanie, you do sound like you're in a bit of a funk at the moment. Is it anything we can help with?

    My menu for the day:
    B - (none)
D - Pasta with tinned toms, onion, mushrooms, bacon and sweetcorn
T - Roast cod and broccoli with a small side-portion of tomato risotto
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Almonds
    Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), hot chocolate (2) = 6

My scales went kaput this morning, luckily not on an actual WI day. I changed the batteries but still nothing, though they are cheapos and I don't know how long they've been languishing the drawer. Going to buy some more batteries today so fingers crossed they'll work otherwise I'm going to have to shell out for new scales one week before January pay day! And I'm nervous that new scales would show something different as well

Here I am bubbs. Cross posted!

Do you find you need to go to a group to stay focused beanie? Why not try to go it alone? You know the plan really well. We'll always look up the syn values for you. Just ask if there's anything we can do.

I went to group this morning and it was better than I expected. I'd gained just a pound which put's me just half a pound out of range. I'm pleased with that as it means I've more or less cleared my Christmas indulgences. I've got a good week coming up so losing half a pound should e doable. After that I really must focus on getting lower down the target range. I'm always hovering around the top.

I stayed to group. I always feel that I should every couple of months. I didn't learn a great deal except that apparently we have one of those Iceland outlet places opened so I'll take a look there.

I went to TKMaxx afterwards as I needed skinny syrup. I picked up a nice organiser for less than £2 which I'm going to use for my food diary/meal planner. It's not just for SW but I need to try to work out what triggers this bloating. It's better today than yesterday though.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, half banana (F), HEB Weetabix, HEA milk
L: JP (F), cottage cheese (P), spring onions, cornichons and beetroot (S)
D: sausage tray bake (S) with hasselback potatoes (F)
    Syns: sausages 1

Spot on bubbs! It arrived just as I got home from group so had to park on the other side of the road as the delivery van was parked across my drive.

As expected I had a gain - of lb - not sure why other than I didn't use all 105 Syns this week so definitely going to use them all this week and see what happens! Last week I only had one day over syns but damage limitation after that. I'm now at my top end of target so really don't want to gain again this week.

    Today's plan:

    B - overnight oats - after WI
L - jacket potato; cottage cheese; salad
D - hunters chicken; mash; peas

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - mozzarella
    HEB - porridge oats

    Syns- wine

Hi, sorry still not got time to have a good read back, work still hectic and any spare time we've got we're decorating DD's flat for her so i'm a bit stressed and shattered.
STS this week though although I don't know how as I've not followed any kind of plan/menu, just been grabbing food while I can.

    Well done majorica and GTQ.

Yes well happy with the new furniture - it actually matches the room now, which we did up early last year but had to put up with the old furniture as the living/dining/kitchen/hall cost us far more than we'd budgeted for so had to wait a while longer for the furniture.

Beanie I do hope you can get back into the "game". It's a shame you don't like the local group. As maman said perhaps you could go it alone. You can always ask on here if you've got any queries.

There are plenty of recipes around on the net that you can try for some new ideas such as Pinch of Nom and Slimming Eats - these are probably the 2 I use the most myself.

The hunters chicken tonight was really nice although the sauce became a bit watery after having thickened it up on the hob for 20 minutes before putting in the oven! Think it was probably the juices from the chicken 'watered' it down a bit.
