    Saving for Christmas 2020 - £1 a day challenge 18th Nov 19 at 10:31 PM
Getting ready for Christmas 2020 - save £1 a day challenge

I know a few of us have enjoyed doing this challenge over the years so I thought I'd host it again this year, please let me know if someone else has already started, if not here we go

The Aim: To save a £1 a day from 1st December 2019 to 30th November 2020. How you save your £1 doesn't really matter, whether it be a £1 in a tin, an on-line account or anywhere else that suits you.

We will open our tins or have access to our accounts on 1st December 2020 and declare total amounts saved.

Then it's spend, spend, spend for Christmas 2020 on whatever you like.

You soon get into the habit of putting a £1 a day away and just think this time next year you will have a healthy chunk of money towards the expense of Christmas

If you would like to join in pop your name down and I will allocate a number for you.

Please note, I have copied some of last year's information for the beginning of this thread

Just about managing my £1 a day. I really hope to be starting a job very soon, if all works out, then I can relax a little with my money worries.

But I feel good about starting

Seems ages since I posted an update - 2 things from same company disappeared from my TCB pot just as I expected payout - must submit a query about them. Anyhow, some shopping was needed for work so new total is:

OK a snazzy £1 in the pot today - up to £15. In my book this equates to the veg for Christmas dinner, plus the gravy.... maybe the yorkshires too

Hi folks. Would you mind if I joined the challenge please?

Towards the end of last year I stopped spending all my Barcs and Moggisons rewards, club card and nextar points and decided to save them for Christmas. I also had a £20 pay out from CheckoutSMart in December and with some eBay sales I had over a hundred pounds saved. It meant that I could splash out on some extras and not use the od - great feeling.

If I could have £366 by Xmas 2020 it would be fab (especially as the cat's insurance is also due in December). I won't be able to rely on my supermarket points this year as I'm shopping mainly at Aldi so will need to up the eBay sales.

I've already got £2.43 in Tesco points, £1.58 Morrisons, £4.92 in Nectar and £8.00 in Barcs so a total of £16.93 and I've just added 2.20 to the pot from my eBay sales so have £19.13p. total.

Hi there, could I join you please? I'll aim for the full £366.

I'm going to set up a Christmas Account with my local Credit Union to set aside money for Christmas this year so it's not there to dip into. I currently have a well-stocked gift cupboard that will be used for birthdays and some Christmas gifts this year. I haven't really through through what I am doing for everyone yet. I do have a load of Christmas cards hat i bought in the sales, which should do this year and next easily. I also have plenty of Christmas wrapping paper and gift bags/boxes.

I've just popped a £1 in the jar so am up to £20.27 today.

Have also just realised that I missed a whole month so I will need to make up £31 somewhere - I'm fleabay selling at the moment so will make sure I add some from my sales.

Really great challenge, thanks for hosting it.
