Renewing Passport - Brexit 18th Sep 19 at 12:23 PM
My passport expires in May 2020.

I need to fly to Portugal for a work event this November so am thinking i need to renew my passport before then, however I don't want to pay to renew it now if i'm only going to have to renew it again if we come out of the EU on the 31 October.

Will our passports change if/when we come out of the EU or will I be ok to renew it now?

I just don't want to have to pay for a new passport twice!

There's no chance that you will need to renew a second time.

There's unlikely to be any need to renew now, unless you had additional months added on your last renewal. There's a checker on gov website.

New passports no longer have EU on them anyway.........
There is a passport checker on the .gov site, at the moment it only needs to be valid for the duration of your stay it may change though after Brexit but will probably just need 6 months on it.
