I cannot see any way of seeing prices without first creating an account ( which I am not going to do ! ) - what have they got to hide ?
  • I made an account to see the prices, just whacked in 12345678900 as my number and random stuff for an email address as you didn't need to verify anything.

They give you like credit from what I can see, then you split the payments over four weeks, and they dispatch after the first payment has been made, so if you want them quick you need to choose the first payment as the day you order or day after.

Just seems expensive and very limited.

Not that ill be using it as I can just order a delivery from the supermarket.

Think they are obviously aiming at people that struggle and want to spread the cost.

So it's the grocery version of a payday loan company

Hopefully there will be a few warnings spread about it. Another unscrupulous business preying on those who can least afford it.
  • Yeah that’s like the best way to put it, although it claims it doesn’t do credit checks on their site so anyone could end up in debt to them which is mad.

I don't know if 'easy and affordable' are mandatory words for the reviews but there seems to be a lot of people using them.
  • Im rather cautious about this new setup simply because you have to pay before you get your food so how can it market itself as Buy now pay later....33 likes on their Flavva Facebook page since September 2019 with a 2.3 out of 5 genuine rating. 1 Trustpilot Flavva Review, No Google Flavva Reviews but 366 Reviews.io standard and generic short1/2/3 worded reviews??? Something you would expect from a Chinese click farm!

An interesting Skint Dad articles points out the following:

    • You must spend a minimum of £30 (with a top credit limit of £40).
    • This may mean you add a load of stuff to your basket that you don’t want.
    • Also, there is a standard delivery charge for all orders, which is £6.99. This must be paid alongside your first payment.
    • Slightly worryingly, they say on the site that if there’s any damage to your order, then you need to claim to the mail service.

My understanding of the Consumer Rights Act (which is echoed by consumer champion sites Which, Rexolver, Citizens Advise – I don’t think you need any more examples!) is that your contract is with the retailer, so it’s them who should be dealing with any issues with your items.

Don’t go to the courier; they will just refer you back to Flavva.

Also, the website states "Basket Credit to purchase goods from our online store is provided via an unregulated credit agreement" with one of the reviews highlighting "packs of crisps as we're close to sell by date"but not dates listed on the website??

The guy replying to the Facebook reviews ,Dan Cluderay is the founder of a company called Approved Food according to Google, which is an online retailer of clearance food and drink.

The company is registered at Jordan House Second Floor, Jordan House, Hall Court, Hall Park Way, Telford, Shropshire, United Kingdom, TF3 4NF ( Company Number 11850196 ) and its directors are Stuart Pearson and Andrew Thomas Parry who are also directors of Sunshine Mobile Limited ( a no credit check mobile network) also with glowing Reviews.io reviews but more Trustpilot Reviews! One of which states

“Really disgusting and how this company is still trading is beyond me.”….

    Hope this helps!!
  • Yeah I never used it in the end and also I read that skint dad review.
  • How did they get your email address? I got the email as well but didnt sign up to it
