Will you watch this spectacle on May 18?

Or do you think voting is fixed?
Do you think Ukraine will vote for Russia?
    Or Russia for Ukraine also?

Maybe it is not about music, instead politics.

What is you opinion of this?

Iíve heard a lot worse than our entry.

Unfortunately if we had the worlds best singer and a fabulous song we still wouldnít get many votes. I remember watching the ESC as a child and politics didnít affect the voting that much, if a song was good it would get a lot of votes.

I donít think the UK has been the most popular country in Europe for a number of years. It will be interesting to see what the ďBrexitĒ effect is, if any. Not sure if weíll be watching it this year. OH would prefer not to, Iím too ladylike to reveal his views on it.

What has Australia got to do with Eurovision? This I don't understand!
Maybe to have a 'World Song Contest' is a better idea.

I think the "World Contest" idea was already punted by somewhere in the former Eastern Bloc, so is unlikely to get much by way of support from the EBU?

Australia is only currently a participant - and only until 2023 IIRC, as things stand because of Eurovision's significant popularity there and historic cultural links but under a host of special conditions. The most notable of which is that if they ever actually win the contest, they must forgo their right to host it in Australia itself and use a Region-1 country instead. Currently one of the German Broadcasters and the BBC have agreed to extend facilities and resources should this happen.

The hot favourites are THE NETHERLANDS. Opening at 50/1 in the betting on the exchanges a month ago there has been fortunes put on them and their price has collapsed straight down. Now sitting odds on at 8/11 to win which is incredibly short for Eurovision. A lot of people are saying this is up there with the best ESC songs of all time......

AUSTRALIA are the second favourites at 7/1. A Lady Gaga wannabe thinking she is in Frozen...Crap imo

we as THE UNITED KINGDOM have not being given a snowballs chance in hell again at 300/1. What odds the commentaors across Europe mention Brexit when we come on stage? . It's not that bad imo. Surely Malta and Ireland will chuck us a couple of votes.

Is this the official thread for tonight's event then?
Are we all going to meet here with our nibbles and special pop and praise/criticise/go 'what the fudge?' at all the acts?
If so, I'll see you all here at 8pm. Norton will be muted and Ken Bruce will be providing commentary for me.
And, Mr Dontone is going out tonight, so it will be a grumble free zone for me too.
    Sees ya all later.

"Eurovision" is just a TV network.

I'll be too busy watching paint drying to watch us lose dismally again to a frenzy of political voting.

Haven't watched this tripe for years. UK only gets as far as the finals because of all the money the BBC throws into the pot.

Works better if you have had a drinky poos or three during the proceedings.
It's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. And it's only one night - unlike the Simon Cowell channel on the other side.
And yep, we haven't go a snowball's chance.

Despite my earlier post, as it's on BBC, I might have it on whilst on here and Mrs Sleazy can watch what she wants. I don't get as annoyed as she does.
