Should we pay for fire restoration before claim is approved? 16th Apr 19 at 8:42 PM
    Hello,

I jointly own a flat with three relatives. A fire broke out two floors below and caused smoke damage. Since then the insurance company have dragged their heels.

We have been in contacted with loss adjustors who mentioned it might need a specialist fire restoration firm. The specialists have quoted 5,600 to clear and restore a one bed flat using a process called thermal fogging.

Should we go at risk to pay for this in order to get the flat rented quicker or wait till the insurers confirms liability?

    cheers

As long as your willing to pay for it out of your own pocket at the end of the day if the claim fails for whatever reason?

What if you pay 5k+ and your insurer says we could have done that for 500.
Punctuation, Spelling and Grammar will be used sparingly. Due to rising costs of inflation.
