DRP - notice of intended court action 13th Jan 19 at 6:07 PM
Hi, my son received a parking notice in October 2018, we have ignored it and have received 2 letters from DRP. The latest letter is "notice of intended court action" and says "if you haven't paid in full or made arrangements to pay by 16/01/2019 we'll pass your file to our client with a recommendation that they take court action against you". Is it too late to write a letter and deny the charge because of poor lighting, excessive charge etc and tell them to refer it back to their client, or should I just stay silent at this stage given that we have already received 2 letters from them.

Any advice would be gratefully received, thanks!

HAHAHA ..... DRP living in the clouds again.

They can do NONE of this. DRP are known liars and morons
The PPC's only use them because they offer a free service but even the PPC's know they are a pointless bunch

Just read this and laugh at any more DRP or ZZPS letters, both of whom are sewer dwellers to IGNORE

The name of the parking company involved is a much better indicator of how much further this will progress after DRP have failed.

    Which one please?
Please note, we are not a legal, residential or credit advice forum, rather one that helps motorists fight private parking charges, primarily at the 'front-end' of the process.

And, complain immediately to the retailer (Store manager) if this was a retail park, and insist they cancel this harassment of shoppers.

It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business.

Hopefully that will take place in the near future. The Bill has passed through the HOC without hitch, and goes to the Lords soon. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.

Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.

All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Please tell us what Sainsburys (or whoever the retailer is) says when you complain.
