well im looking to improve my credit file and I have noticed that I have two defaults listed for the same debt , the debt was with one company who registered the debt and then sold it to another company . ive since paid off the debt to the new owner but im having a job getting the first to mark there account as settled which I understand should have been when it was sold . any advice please

    Hi,

I’ve moved your post to Debt Free Wannabe forum as you had posted it in the diaries section.

The original owner should of marked your file settled with a zero balance when sold to the 3rd party.

Send them a written complaint, they have 8 weeks to issue a response, if your not happy, or they don’t respond, then escalate the matter to the ICO who deals with all information complaints.
