Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2019 18th Dec 18 at 12:24 PM
Welcome to Pay ALL Your Debt Off By Xmas 2019!

Firstly I would like to welcome all new and existing members from last years thread.

Anyone is welcome to join this challenge and it is NEVER too late. There is also no amount of money too small or too large that will stop you from joining this challenge. We have several members who will be on their debt journey for several years to come, but they are part of this thread to pay off a fixed amount of their debt as the support on here is fantastic!
So, if you think you can pay off all your debts by Christmas or have a goal to pay off a certain amount then please join in!

This challenge runs until 27th December 2019.

To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour and post the amount you have paid off // target amount

It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your challenge number.
i.e. another £50 paid off so now the total paid off for

    #001 is £315.43/£7685.67
By the way, don't worry about working out your % paid as I can do that for you!

    Official MoneySavingExpert insert, 14 Jan:

Want to join the challenge? Please post your debt amount on this thread and ask to join. Muppets will assign you a special number (eg, #001), which you'll then start all your posts with.

You can also get help in the Debt free wannabe board and Debt Help guide.

If you haven’t already, join the forum to join in the challenge.

Good luck everyone and thanks to muppets for the original post!

This Forum tip was included in MoneySavingExpert.com's weekly email!

Not been on site for ages as my mumís been diagnosed with vascular dementia and thinking about anything else has been too hard but reading back everyone is doing well. Hopefully even those not off the mark will throw a fiver at it. Iíve found starting is always the hardest. Iíll send all my totals at the weekend. Have a good week everyone.

    Hello all,

Sorry I have been AWOL, things have been tough with health concerns. I wanted to send a (mixed) update.

Unfortunately my debt increased because of increased and unexpected costs and debts I had not taken in to account. My total debt increased from £2020.53 to £2674.42.

I am proud to say I have done a lot budgeting and debt busting and have paid off in total (including amount previously posted) £2360.74 (with thanks to an unexpected payout as well).

    (NEW DEBT TOTAL)

    #33 Debt paid £2360.74 of £2674.42

    Remaining to pay £313.68

    Thank you

    Wow.
Someone that owes me money for 52 months has actually paid it back.
Iím chuffed to report I just was able to pay a chunk off the debt.
Will never make the mistake of loaning money again though, what a pain getting it back and a friendship almost ruined.
