    I think i need a diary 15th Dec 18 at 10:50 PM
Hello all. Ive toyed with the idea of a diary but to be honest up until now it would have been mortgage v dmp with no clear winner and a possible entry to the guiness book of records with how long it would take if I sucessfully posted that long.
Anyway i have wonderful news as my brother is getting married to someone with whom he is absolutely meant to be with. He lives in a far off land and its probably happening this year- a quick google of basic flight costs means i need to put aside 4.33 per day for 365 days just to cover flights ( two adults three kids and wedding possibly sooner).
Anyhow as the title suggests i think I may need a diary so I have someone to talk too on the way and to get some miracle ideas x.
DH is not interested in our financial plight at all although actually had a flicker of a lightbulb this week as he has opened up a savings account and put 1.28 in it x

Thankyou. I havent paid all that money off though as ive done 3 f and f since going self managed. I can pretend though. Going to plod for a while now i think on the debt front and get the savings back up. The other totals in my name are all high so will be a few years off yet. Still got two more passports to pay for and spends to carry on finding. Feel better now im back under 30 though. Next target is to have mortgage and debt combined total to be less than 100k. Hopefully by next spring x

Exciting news. The fix on our mortgage ends soon and today we could officially look for a new deal with our provider. We have been on a five year fix at 3.59 -which at the time was needed as we knew we would be looking to default and was actually a reasonable rate back then for our LTV and circumstances.
Anyhow back to the point. Weve been offered another 5 year fix at 2.19% which will save us 49 pounds a month. Yipeeeee. And the best news is it starts from the next payment as opposed to sept when our previous fix ran out. Yayyyyyy.
I know there are better deals to be had if you have a credit rating but we dont and 5 years will give us a good head start for sorting debt issues and it didnt require affordability checks.
V happy and relieved that mortgage is affordable for 5 more years x

I don't think you'd beat 2.19% on a 5 year fix anywhere else. It's what I'm aiming for! Unless your ltv is under 50%. I'm jealous - I need to go for a credit check to get mine. Be proud. Your doing brilliantly. Plus another debt gone forever!

You're nailing this. I wasnt trying to be smug telling you my working hours. Just that I think I'd be worse off with breakfast clubs to pay for. I'm bottom rung retail so it's a different situation.

    Keep going!! Xxx

Thanks. I was suprised at the rate. It was without any checks as well just a choice from our current provider. We were offered decent rates on three and seven years as well but this one felt the right one for us.

I didnt think you were being smug about your hours. I think its good you can do it. No spare time for you though but to be able to pick the kids up everyday and have tea together does make me envious ha ha. Im bottom rung of nhs so dont worry about your job. Its just what works for the kiddy winks at the end of the day.

Posting frenzy today folks. Three in a row. Ha ha
Exciting times though as ive got an arrow to get straight to the last page of my diary. Much easier to post now.
We spent the weekend away using the s newspaper holiday scheme. Site was in dire need of thousands and thousands spending on it but aside from that we had loads of fun, the kids absolutely loved it and they played out in front of our room and made friends all the time we were there. They got to enjoy all the activities and I think we came more or less within budget for spends but just in case i have a shift lined up next weekend. Its meant for the savings pot but if we have made the leftover budget too tight till payday i could use some of that to see us through.

All good today. Work school and usual palava. Got 3 posh pizzas garlic bread and pop for a fiver from iceland. I get i could buy own brand for a similar price but these were much nicer and made for a great rushing round to much to cook tea x

Thinks all okay today. Slight issue with my help to save account and a missing 200 pounds but i feel calm enough to post about it now. I transferred 200 to myself a whileback and its still lost inbetween them and my bank. Its put me in a right pickle but i get c benefit on monday which is just in the nick of time for the next set of d debits. Ive about 25 in my bank till then for food and petrol so i should make it. The missing 200 I do need back obviously but ive got a shift lined up each weekend for the next 3 weeks in case it become a long winded battle to get it back.
Honestly its shocking how much both banks have fobbed me off about it but i have secured mse knowledge on what to do next from the kind folks on the bank account forum so all is good.

Hope so too. Spoke to all involved again. I have complaints raised with both sides and am beginning to get the same staff answer ive spoken to before... ill keep you posted. 200 quid is not millions but it is about a weeks main job wage so i will not let it go.
Otherwise today has been good. Eldest got pupil of the week so very proud. It will be a big boost for him as well

Help to save money still missing in action. Ill keep on chasing though.
Moneywise i got caught out by bad maths and bank accounts not updating after transactions and so thinking i have more than i do. Oops, must pay better attention. All bils paid and 98 pounds remaining though for 9 days food/petrol so should be okay. Worked last weekend so should get a mini wage this friday. Not going to rely on it arriving in time -its the company i used to work for so i fully expect a mix up. Ideally this will complete the hen party fund. Next target is beds for 2 youngest then its spends for the wedding holiday. I spent the emergency fund swapping the car so im aiming to transfer some money each week to build it back up again. Ive set it to be automatic payment so it should gradually build up again i hope.
    Happy wednesday folks x

Hope the missing money turns up soon.
Your own bank can do a forward trace within 14 days which should show up where it has ended up.

It is a bit. Re wages i am now set up on the system so it will be fine from now on. Will be exciting next week though ill have that wage clear, then on friday my main job wage and my wage from agency work this afternoon. I will feel temporarily rich ha ha. Till i look at my budget spreadsheet.
Low spend weekend planned till then as the coffers are empty.
We have food etc but i will need petrol early next week.

Low spend weekend going well. Used a morrisons voucher i got towards the shopping did pre paid activities yesterday morning, worked in the afternoon then free stuff so far today. Ive got a tenner in my purse to cover fuel and am only 3 pounds short for direct debits due before main payday.i will use my bank job wage for that which will land on monday/tuesday and the rest will hopefully go in savings and a tiny top up for pack lunches bags.

My signature is slightly out of date as ive decided to delete the totals from my budget spreadsheet. No matter which way i look at them it will take a while and its getting the savings back up a bit thats priority now so ive deleted it from my own records. I will break 29500 by end of june though which is another barrier done.
