Next steps after offer accepted 10th Nov 18 at 12:48 PM
I have an offer on a house being considered by the owners this weekend. I am in the fortunate position of being able to buy without a mortgage. I have received quotes from two local solicitors for conveyancing and am doing the same for a full structural survey.

Whilst I've done some reading online, I have some questions regarding the order of the steps after having an offer accepted. At what point in the process should I instruct the surveyor? Also, on a basic level, if the estate agency calls me to say that the offer is successful, do I give her my solicitor's details and get the owner's solicitor's details. Is there anything the estate agent will need from me? Finally, I've read that a valuation would be considered additional on a normal structural survey. Is it worth me getting this so I know its value for insurance purposes?

Thank you in advance for your time and advice.

  • Today?s twitter poll: Do you believe BBC news reporting is biased on Brexit? In last week's poll, about left right? https://t.co/0I5nWrlfk1

  • Oh the irony. Though to be fair to number 10, this probably sums up Brexit better than anything else I've seen... https://t.co/jfx47FUUYa
